THE PRODUCTION PROCESS OF CARBIDE BURRS

  • The production process of blanks for carbide burrs.
  • prepared by mixing

As required to weigh tungsten carbide powder, cobalt powder and other rare metal powder, then add them into wet milling machine together, uniform grinding, then adding forming agent to make of mixed material with flow ability.

  • Inspecting mixture

Sampling mixture of each batch , pressing the small strips sample for testing, by conventional sintering process sintered, then inspecting the sample’s magnetic force, cobalt magnetization, density, hardness, strength, metallographic structure and cross section results,

  • Compression-molding process

Putting a certain amount of mixture material into the molds of carbide burrs, under a certain pressure, the mixture material of carbide burrs will be compressed into the pressing blanks with specified shape and sizes.

  • Sintering

The pressing blanks of carbide burrs will be put into sintering furnace, and the forming agent will be removed at a low temperature stage by a certain sintering process, followed the pressing blanks of carbide burrs will be densified at a high temperature stage to obtain a fully densification carbide blanks for rotary burrs.

  • Sand blasting cleaning

Removing the impression and coating that on the surface to make consistent appearance.

 

  • Carbide burrs blanks performance and appearance inspection

Tungsten carbide inspection: inspecting the magnetic force, cobalt magnetization, density, hardness, strength, metallographic structure and cross section results of carbide burr blanks to make sure there is no defects, delamination, cracks, losing angle etc. and the sizes meets the qualification.

 

  • Packing and putting in storage.

  • The production process of finished carbide burrs
  • The turning of shank

Turning the shank of carbide burrs with meter lathe. To match the welding taper with carbide head and no space between head faces and no waggle for bore-hole.

 

  • Welding

1, Smooth the welding face of the carbide bead by grinding machine.

2, Use high-frequency induction welder to operate welding work with certain heating current.

3, Use concentricity device to test the welding concentricity, which should be controlled with 0.2

4, After the cooling of the carbide, threw the petiole to the ground, it shows qualified when it broke clear and crisp.

5, Choose 1% to do the welding strength impact.

 

  • Clean the copper on the products

For shape A and B carbide burrs, grinding the cylindrical with 0.3mm allowance, and smooth the head face; for shape C and D carbide burrs, grinding the outer with 0.3mm allowance; for shape E, F, G, H, J, K, L and N, adjusting the angle of grinding miller to finish passes and grind off the scale cinder; for shape M, adjusting the angle of grinding miller to finish passes and ensure the 0.8 diameter of the drill point.

 

  • Tooth punching

With 5-axis CNC machine on the national standard or clients ’ requirement. The requirements are as follows:

1,The dimensional tolerance is should within ±0.15mm, concentricity within 0.5mm.

2, Surface Quality is no light tool marks, no white edge and no burn for the out-looking.

3, The first product must be test tooth form parameters by YVM. When it meet the requirements, volume-produce is allowed.

  • Shank grinding

Ensure the carbide burrs shank tolerance within 0-0.05mm by centerless grinding machine, and grinding the R angle and the transition circular arc of shank. Reach the 0.8 surface smoothness of shank.

 

 

  • cleaning

Use hairbrush to clean the carbide burrs in kerosene for the first time, and then, repeat the work in clean kerosene for the second time. Notice: 1, Do not scratch products. 2, Use compressed air to drying products.

 

  • Inspection

1, Use concentricity tester to test the concentricity, which should be controlled with 0.1.

2, Threw the carbide burrs to the ground, it shows qualified when the sound is clear and melodious.

3, The cut diameter tolerance within ±0.15mm by outside micrometer.

4, Observe the appearance of the products: clear cut, no white edge and  light tool marks etc.

5, The shank feels smooth.

  • Laser marking

Marking LOGO on carbide burrs’ shank according to the customer requirements. Notice: 1, the LOGO must be clear and legible. 2, the style, sizes and location of LOGO must be consistent.

  • Packaging

1, Wipe on the slushing oiling to the shank, the quantity have to not too much, to avoid the pollution the packaging box.

2, Pack the products with standard packing method, or specific packing method according clients ’ requirement.
